Motorcycle driver dies in Marion Co. crash

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A motorcycle driver has died in a collision in the Gresham area of Marion County, according to troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Their website reports that crash occurred around 3:22 p.m. Thursday afternoon on Highway 9 near Terrell's Bay Road in the Gresham area of Marion County.

Highway Patrol officials say the male driver of a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was driving south of Highway 9 when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

The driver, 28-year-old Ryan Fogan of Marion, was pronounced dead on the scene, says Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson He was not wearing a helmet.
