Former detention officer arrested for domestic violence

Conway, SC (WMBF) – A former detention officer was arrested Saturday for domestic violence, according to Horry County officials.

Ronald Jacobs, a 56-year-old former employee of the J. Reuben Long Detention Center , was arrested at 9:30 a.m. by Horry County Police for an alleged incident that occurred on February 10, according to a news release from the Horry County Government. He was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Jacobs was employed at the detention center from May 1999 until his arrest, officials stated.

Bond was set at $50,000, with a GPS monitoring device, according to the release.
