ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A 16-year-old boy is dead after a gun he was playing with fired and struck him in the chest.
Public Information Officer for the Robeson County Sheriff's Office Randy Graham says the 16-year-old was playing with a gun with his 14-year-old brother on McQueen Road near the Shannon area.
The first time the trigger was pulled the gun did not fire so the teens assumed it was unloaded. The second time, a bullet fired struck the older brother, inflicting a fatal wound.
The named of the deceased has not been released.
