MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - What would you do if you left your phone behind at a restaurant? One Myrtle Beach man did just that, and wasn't satisfied to wait until the restaurant reopened to get it back.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police incident report, 34-year-old Jeffery Richard Weeks was having a few beers at E-Noodles and Co. on 20th Avenue South Tuesday night. When the restaurant closed, he left with an employee, who called up the owner when they realized Weeks left his phone on the bar counter.

The owner claims he told Weeks he could come by and get it the next day after they open, but he was very upset he couldn't have it right away.

Alarms were activated in the restaurant around 10 p.m. when surveillance video shows a white male breaking through a window with a cement flower pot and grabbing the phone off the bar counter. The report states Weeks also nabbed a bottle of scotch before walking right out the front door.

Weeks was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center just a few hours later for passing a fraudulent check. Myrtle Beach Police spokesman Capt. David Knipes confirms he was the man they wanted and will be charged in connection with the burglary.
