Community theater group giving Georgetown a “Souvenir”

The Swamp Fox Players will present their latest production of "Souvenir" in March at the Strand Theater.

The 2-character play is set in 1960s Greenwich Village and tells the story of the musical career of Florence Foster Jenkins, a wealthy socialite who became legendary for her poor singing ability.

The show will run Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. beginning March 1 through 16. In addition, there will be a Thursday performance on March 14 at 8:00 p.m. and two Sunday matinees on the 10th and 17th at 2:30 p.m.

All tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling 843-527-2924.

The Swamp Fox Players began in 1971, and their goal continues to be to provide visitors and the community with outstanding quality presentations.

The Strand Theater is located at 710 Front St. in Georgetown.
