2013 Myrtle Beach Marathon App available in App Store

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBMF) – This year, you can download the free 2013 Myrtle Beach Marathon app for information on local weekend events, restaurants deals, marathon news, course maps, and more.

The app includes features for both running and spectators, and includes additional premium features for a $1.99 upgrade.

After upgrading, runners can set their goal time so spectators can estimate their location, and auto-post their split and final times to Facebook and/or Twitter on race day.

With the upgraded app, spectators can view any participant's estimated location along the course route based on their game time and real-time splits, as well as view the start times, splits, and final results for any participant.

The upgraded app also allows real-time viewing of the event leaderboard, and other features.

Runners or spectators with questions about the app can meet with xlrun, the app developer, at the HTC Runners' Expo on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The National Weather Service has issued a rip current advisory for Horry county until 8 o'clock Sunday evening.  For the full report click here. The statement issued Sunday warns of all "eastern facing beaches in northern Horry".     CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A jet ski collision near the Red Bluff Boat Landing in Conway on Saturday left one man dead, according to the Horry County Coroner's Office. Martin Dale McDaniel, 50, was rushed to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday evening.  An autopsy is reportedly scheduled for Sunday.  The Department of Natural Resources continues to investigate.
