LORIS, SC (WMBF) - A member of the Bloods gang and student at Loris High School is facing charges for "stink bombing."

According to the police report, a mysterious smell filled the hallways of Loris High on the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 7, forcing custodial staff to don protective face masks, shut doors and block students from going anywhere near the gym.

Surveillance cameras in the school showed a 17-year-old student, Jaleel Brookins, walking down the hallway just before the smell began to permeate its offensive odor, spraying something from a can.

After the teen was taken into custody he admitted to the dispensing that liquid spray and being a member of the Bloods gang. He was charged with stink bombing and disturbing schools.

He was released from custody the following morning with a $2,000 bond.
