MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - "American Idol" Season 11 finalist and Coastal Carolina University alumni, Elise Testone, will have a special Valentine's Day concert in Charleston on Thursday, Feb. 14.
The show will take place downtown at the Charleston Music Hall on John St., and will showcase Testone as a singer/songwriter with 12 of her original songs. She will also sing several covers, including Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love," which gained her much attention and praise on American Idol, and is also the name of this particular event.
After finishing sixth in last year's season of the popular singing competition, Testone is ready to perform again in the town she loves and has called home for the last several years. She recently told the Charleston City Paper that she wants to establish herself as Elise Testone instead of only being known as the girl from American Idol. "That's still a great platform to start from," Testone said, "but I want to show the world who I am as an artist."
Accompanying Testone will be a 12-piece band featuring Wallace Mullinax on guitar, Ben Wells on bass, Daniel Crider on drums , Jack Burg on percussion, Gerald Gregory on keys, Simon Harding on flute and tenor sax, Michael Quinn on trumpet and tenor sax, Lonnie Root on cello with Shannon Cook and Diane Fabiano on background vocals. Special guests will also be included throughout the evening.
VIP tickets are sold out, but seats are still available upstairs for $18 and downstairs for $20. Tickets may be purchased at the Charleston Music Hall box office, etix.com, or by calling 1-800-514-3849.
