LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – Seven spectators were arrested after a fight broke out during a basketball game at Lake City High School Wednesday night, according to officials.

All seven were between the ages of 18 and 20 and face charges of disturbing schools, Lake City Police officials said. The Lake City School boys varsity basketball team was playing Kingstree when the fight broke out. No weapons were found in the incident.

The fight caused the game to be stopped with 2:01 left on the clock, with Lake City leading Kingstree 52-42, said Florence School District 3 spokesperson Brian Huckabee.

On Thursday, the teams met again to finish the remaining two minutes; the game was closed to everyone except players, coaches and officials, Huckabee said.  Lake City won 63-42.

Lake City Police Chief Billy Drown said all seven suspects were released on bond at about 4:30 p.m Thursday.

Police said they are reviewing surveillance video from gymnasium cameras to see if anyone else was involved.

The cause of the fight in under investigation, officials said.
