MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A fight between two students on an Horry County School bus ended with one in handcuffs.

That fight broke out on a bus Wednesday morning traveling its normal route. According to the incident report from Horry County Police, one student boarded the bus to find another teen boy in the seat he normally chose.

That teen, 17-year-old Loggan Taylor Courtney, refused to move and called the other boy a racial slur. After a brief scuffle the teens were separated and the bus continued on to its next stop.

That's been the younger teen went back to the seat he favored and the fight resumed. The bus driver and witnesses claim Courtney said "I have a knife in my pocket, and I'll cut your throat," to the teen boy he was fighting.

A police officer and school principal meet the school bus when it pulled over in front of Carolina Forest Elementary and Courtney was taken into custody. He was charged with disturbing schools and assault and battery.

A search of Courtney and all the other students on the bus did not yield any weapons. He claims in the report that he only wanted the other teen boy to believe that he had one.

The other teen involved in the fight was also charged with disturbing schools. The minor was released to his parents.
