MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is working a crash in the Myrtle Beach area that involved a police officer.
The crash was reported around 12:06 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Harrelson Boulevard and South Kings Highway.
Highway patrol spokesman Sonny Collins says the Myrtle Beach police vehicle was heading south on Kings Highway and disregarded the traffic light at Harrelson Boulevard, colliding with a car turning onto the highway from Harrelson Boulevard.
The driver of that vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Myrtle Beach Police spokesman Capt. David Knipes confirms that a uniformed police officer was involved in the crash. An officer on the scene says that police officer was not injured.
The police department's vehicle was seen being towed down 10th Avenue North just before 2:30 p.m.
