Smoke in the air due to 125 acre controlled burn

A controlled burn by the South Carolina Forestry Commission may be causing that smoke you see in the air.

Forestry Commission spokesman Scott Hawkins they are conducting a hazard reduction burn near Highway 90, in the vicinity of Lees Landing Road.

The fire is approximately 125 acres in size and is intended to reduce the risk of wildfires in the future.
