HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Solicitor's Office is said to be wrapping up an investigation involving a former Horry County firefighter and EMT who may soon face a judge over claims he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.

Rodney Claude Gilmore, is out of jail on a $5,000 bond after turning himself into police on Friday, Feb. 1.

Gilmore was booked at J. Reuben Long Detention Center and charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.

Gilmore's attorney Scott Bellamy said Gilmore has been cooperating with police since he was notified about having a warrant out for his arrest.

According to the police report, the 13-year-old victim said Gilmore touched her chest and butt throughout the time period of June 2012 to January 2013.

Gilmore did speak with a WMBF News reporter stating, "To be honest I'm not sure what will come of it. I don't know how much attention will be placed on this, but my family is having a hard time." Gilmore directed anymore questions to his attorney.

His attorney Scott Bellamy said once the investigation is turned over to his office then he will be working with the solicitor's office on the next steps to take in the case.

Gilmore has since been terminated from his post as an EMT and fireman with Horry County Fire Rescue. He had been with Station 15, which is in Bayboro in July 2012.

In the police report it was noted the 13-year-old said she felt uncomfortable and depressed around Gilmore during the time of the alleged incident.
