Power restored to nearly 1500 in Horry Co.

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Power was out for some customers of Horry Electric Friday afternoon.

The utility company posted on their Facebook page around 2:45 p.m. Friday saying a power outage was reported in the Colonial Charters subdivision off of Highways 9 and 57 near Little River.

The cause of the power outage was initially unknown, but crews immediately dispatched to the scene discovered a tree had fallen on a power line.

The map of outages on their website estimated 1,403 people are affected by that outage. Power was restored to the neighborhood in just over 30 minutes after the lights went out.
