Local sea turtle makes her third Super Bowl prediction

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - You probably know who you're rooting for during the Super Bowl, but, believe it or not, a local reptile may already know who's going to win.

A sea turtle in Myrtle Beach has made her pick for the third year in the row.

Gabby the green sea turtle has been picking teams at Ripley's Aquarium every year, and this year, after much debate, she's made her pick.

"She seemed very indecisive today and she cruised by it two or three times, but finally she picked the 49ers," says Laura Irvin with Ripley's Aquarium. "But she mulled over the 49ers a lot."

Don't put it all on San Francisco yet, however. So far, Gabby's record is one and one, so the outcome of Sunday's game will decide how good she really is.
