MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Whether you're a mother, daughter, aunt, cousin or grandmother - every woman has a reason to dawn the color red on Friday.
It's National Wear Red Day, part of the Go Red for Women movement to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke in women. To participate, simply wear red and encourage your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to join you.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease and stroke are the leading killers of women in the United States, killing more women than men each year.
Are you wearing red for women? If so, snap a photo and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll include the photo of you in your red outfit in a slideshow on wmbfnews.com.
