DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - The Drug Enforcement Unit in Darlington County busted two people for manufacturing methamphetamine, nearly a year after they were arrested for similar charges.

Darlington County Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Andy Locklair says 43-year-old Joe Eddins and 47-year-old Cheryl Melton were arrested as the result of the drug unit's investigation.

A search warrant for their home revealed a "clandestine methamphetamine lab" which was dismantled and cleaned by a specialist, Capt. Locklair says.

Eddins and Melton were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine within proximity of a school (1/2 mile radius). This duo was also arrested in February 2012 at a different location in Hartsville for manufacturing meth.

This drug operation also resulted in the arrests of 39-year-old Wendy Stewart Clanton and 34-year-old Kevin A. Rogers.

A bond hearing for these suspects is scheduled for Friday morning at 8 a.m.
