MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A 30-year-old man was arrested Monday after he allegedly made several lurid remarks and inappropriately touched a 16-year-old boy in the steam room of a Myrtle Beach hotel, according to police reports.

Ronald Whitley was located and arrested Monday by Myrtle Beach Police after detectives interviewed the victim and located the rental car Whitley and another man were using, reports state.

The victim told police that he was in the steam room at the Ocean Watch Villas, located at 8500 Costa Verde Drive, when Whitley entered and started talking to him. The victim said Whitley asked him if he had ever had oral sex, and if he was interested in men. The victim responded "no" to both questions, and said he doesn't judge those interested in the same sex.

The victim told police that when he responded "no," to another sexual question, Whitley grabbed the victim's genitals. The victim pushed the hand off, and went to get his belongings from the locker. Whitley followed the victim, he said, continuing to make sexual remarks and inappropriately touching the victim.

The victim left and called his mother, who located her son and found Whitley walking with another man, the police report states. The mother then confronted Whitley and took pictures of him and his rental car.

An officer with Myrtle Beach Police responded and ran the tags, the report states, and found it was a rental car from Enterprise. The vehicle was located, and Whitley was brought in for questioning by detectives.

He was charged on Tuesday for assault and battery in the first degree.
