Laurinburg Police nab attempted murder suspect

LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - After a month of searching for an attempted murder suspect, Laurinburg Police have placed a 33-year-old man behind bars.

The victim in that attempted murder was found lying on a door step of a Carver Street apartment building on Dec. 19. The 29-year-old man was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital, then Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and later released.

According to investigators in the Laurinburg Police Dept., the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Aldophus Leon Jackson of Laurinburg.

Almost a month after the altercation between Jackson and the victim, police located him at a home on Lytch Street.

He was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, assault by pointing a gun and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. His bond was set at $80,000.
