Two men arrested in Brunswick County New Year's Day murder

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) Two men in connection to the New Year's Day murder of a Brunswick County man have been arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Brunswick County Detectives arrested 21- year-old Nicholas Wayne Smith of Leland, NC and a 16-year-old of Winnabow, NC on Thursday, according to Sheriff John W. Ingram, V of the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.

On January 1, Hartford Talmage Sellers III was found unresponsive in the driveway of a home on Meadows Road in Leland, a press release by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office explained on January 4.

Sellers was taken to the New Hanover County Regional Medical Center where he later died.

No bond has been set for either suspect. Smith is scheduled to appear in court on February 28.
