MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A strong storm system will blow through the Carolinas Thursday night bringing an abrupt end to the recent warm weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Dillon, Horry, Brunswick and Robeson counties until 7 p.m.
The rain will linger off and on through midnight as much colder temperatures start to move in. In fact, enough colder air may catch up with the moisture well inland for a few wet snow flakes to mix with the rain for areas west of Interstate 95.
The rain will retire by Friday morning, but we'll start the day in the mid to upper 30s.
A gusty wind will send the wind chilly into the upper 20s. Even with lots of sun on Friday, temperatures will only reach the middle to upper 40s.
