MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Any taxpayer in South Carolina can learn more about protecting their identity in three online "webinars" hosted by the state government this week.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue is joining the South Carolina State Library and the South Carolina department of Consumer Affairs to provide taxpayers with information on minimizing identity theft, according to a release from the SCDR. The webinars will teach taxpayers about security breaches, credit reports, and how to enroll in credit-monitoring services.
Staff members from the departments will also be available to answer questions consumers may have during the online sessions, taking place on January 16, 17 and 18. Participants can participate from home or on a public computer.
