ANDREWS, SC (WMBF) A tip from a caretaker helped Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrest two burglary suspects as they attempted to burglarize a local wire company.
At approximately 2:33 p.m. on Friday, Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a suspicious noise call at Andrews Wire. A caretaker heard a suspicious noise inside the building on Wire Drive.
Police arrested 31-year-old James Matthew Chavis of Georgetown after finding him hiding in the building. Charlene Denise Ard, 25, of Andrews was also arrested after failing to escape in a vehicle pulling a trailer.
Chavis and Ard are charged with 3rd degree burglary, possessing burglary tools and additional charges could follow. The suspects are being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center while they await their bond hearing.
