MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two portable toilets at Chapin Park were completely destroyed by a fire that Myrtle Beach Police are calling suspicious.

An officer responded to the park at 400 14th Avenue North at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the request of the fire department to find a standard-size and a handicap portable restroom destroyed by a fire, according to police reports. All that remained of the standard-size restroom was "a small amount of waste material and blue water," the report stated, and while there was some plastic remaining on the ground from the handicap restroom, both were declared a total loss.

The owner of the toilets arrived and verified that they belonged to his company, the report stated, and that they were valued at about $500 and $1,800.

The fire department determined there was no need for their arson investigator to respond, as there was nothing left to process, police officials stated.
