Wednesday weather leads up to unseasonable temps

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The holidays are over and for now it seems like the cooler weather may be too. WMBF Storm Team Meteorologist Jamie Arnold has record breaking highs for the month of January in his 7-day forecast.

"Those warmer nights and warmer days are really going start revving up here and through the rest of the week as the warming trend continues thanks in a large part to the jet stream, it's lifting unusually far to the north for this time of the year," Arnold said.

Waking up on Wednesday you can expect temperatures in the mid 40s across inland areas and the Grand Strand can expect low 50s.

You can begin to feel temperatures creep into the upper 60s throughout the day on Wednesday. Mostly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain close to the coast also join the unseasonably warm temperatures for Wednesday.

By the time night falls temperatures will begin to cool off into the 50s, still giving your heat a break heading into the end of the work week.

"This weather pattern isn't going to change much at all as we head through the weekend and even into early next week, that means the unseasonably warm weather will also continue," Arnold said.
