Conway PD: Robbery suspects steal phone, car

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - One woman is behind bars with her alleged accomplice in an armed robbery still on the loose.

The victim of this robbery was in the area of Ward Circle on the night of Dec. 28 to give a female friend a ride.

While he was waiting, the victim told Conway Police that he became nervous and tried to close his car door. That's when a black male pointed a handgun in his face, demanding he get out of the car.

There was also a female with the man, who helped force the victim to the ground, robbing him of $6 and a cell phone. The suspects then told him in get in the trunk of his own car, but the victim took off running and called 911.

When police arrived the victim's car was gone, but it was later located near Taylor Square with no keys.

One of the suspects, 21-year-old Deaungela Shanta Latrice Montgomery, was arrested and charged with armed robbery. The male suspect named in the report has not yet been charged.
