CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Police have arrested the Conway man witnesses saw firing several shots at a woman inside her home.
It was around 3 p.m. Sunday when police were alerted of the possible domestic situation.
The incident report from Horry County Police says the suspect, 50-year-old James Paul Rowe, was in his friend's home when he shot several rounds.
Witnesses say he was very upset when he realized the picnic table he bought was sold for $40 instead of $45. The female victim left the home but later returned to remove her things.
That when the report states the man physically assaulted her and began waving around a gun from his coat pocket.
Officers found at least three bullet holes in the living room area of the home before they spotted their suspect in the surrounding wooded area.
He was armed with a shotgun and a handgun when he fled from police into heavy brush across the creek. Police set up a perimeter around the scene and searched for him with canines, but he was not found.
Booking records for J. Reuben Long Detention Center show Rowe was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with attempted murder. His bond has not been set.
A search of Rowe's criminal record revealed he is a felon prohibited to be in possession of a firearm or ammunition.
