NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The longest continuous running
event along the Grand Strand is scheduled to return at the end of January.
The 30th Annual North Myrtle Beach Winter Run is
being held on Saturday, January 26 at 9 a.m.
The event includes a 5K run as well as a 15K run, both
beginning and ending on Main Street. If
you participated in the past you can expect a new course for the 15K in 2013.
Along the way runners will be guided with mile markers at
miles 1.5, 4, 6 and 8. Water stations will also be available at each of these
checkpoints to keep participants hydrated throughout the course.
After crossing the finish line, prizes will be awarded to
the top three overall finishers, top master finishers and top three five-year
age group finishers in both the male and female categories.
Registered participants will also receive t-shirts for their
involvement. T-shirts will be available while supplies last for other race
participants.
Volunteers are also needed to put on the run. If you are
interested in helping with check-in and registration, working water stations,
directing runners along the course or helping at the finish line you can
contact Gregg Barnhill at 843-280-5673.
