Myrtle Beach man dies in motorcycle crash

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - One man is dead and another woman is in the hospital after a motorcycle crash on Highway 707.

That crash occurred on Highway 707 near Salem Road sometime around 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports a couple was test driving a motorcycle from Dunes Cycles on Highway 707. After crossing the highway, the motorcycle struck a ditch and a tree.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge identified the motorcycle driver as 47-year-old David Walsh from Myrtle Beach. Walsh was transported to the hospital where he later died from massive trauma.

The passenger on his motorcycle, an unidentified female, was admitted to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center but her condition is unknown.

Highway Patrol is still investigating to this crash and if the driver and passenger were wearing a helmet at the time.
