Robbery suspect strikes store clerk with weapon

LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - Police in Laurinburg have released the photo of a man they believe robbed a convenience store, assaulting the store's clerk with his weapon.

The masked suspect entered the Shop and Win Dollar Store on South Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, according to Laurinburg Police spokesman Lt. Cliff Sessoms.

The man was armed with a weapon when he took the store clerk's cell phone and the business phone, locking the clerk in a room and leaving with an unknown amount of cash.

Lt. Sessoms adds that the clerk was struck in the head by the man's weapon, causing a minor laceration.

Laurinburg Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Deangelo Terdelle Terry of Laurinburg. Anyone with information on his location is urged to contact the Laurinburg Police Department at 910-276-3211.
