ANDREWS, SC (WMBF) The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has taken 18-year-old Laswana Gamble into custody.

Gamble was wanted by authorities after she attacked her cousin with a knife on Thursday.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call on Mahogany Avenue in Andrews around 5:30 p.m. Thursday regarding an assault.

"Gamble was involved in a verbal argument with the victim which escalated to the suspect pulling a knife out of her purse and attacking the victim which resulted in multiple wounds," said Public Information Officer Carrie Cuthbertson of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was transported to the Georgetown Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Officer Cuthbertson.
