Teen charged with sexual assault of 12-year-old

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A man jailed for a previous crime is now facing charges for a sex crime reported in Darlington County.

Darlington County Sheriff's Office Capt. Andy Locklair says that 18-year-old Marquis Zandui Hawkins was taken into custody on Wednesday to face charges for the criminal sexual conduct of a minor.

But before then, we in behind bars in another county, facing charges for an unrelated crime.

Hawkins criminal sexual conduct charge is in connection to the sexual assault of a 12-year-old, which was reported in early 2012.

He remains in the Darlington County Detention Center with a $475 bond.
