Pedestrian dies, driver injured in Timmonsville crash

TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into a crash that caused fatal injuries in the Timmonsville area Wednesday.

The website for the highway patrol lists the accident occurring at 6:52 a.m. on the 4100 block of Creek Road near Highway 301 in Timmonsville.

A car traveling on Creek Road struck a pedestrian, but pending investigation it is unclear which direction the car was traveling and where the pedestrian was in the roadway.

The driver of the car was transported to McLeod with injuries. The pedestrian was killed in the crash.

The Florence County Coroner's Officer identified the pedestrian as 73-year-old William Everett Oliver from Timmonsville. Oliver died from vehicular trauma.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of this crash. Stick with for the latest details as they become available.
