FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) According to Kenneth Carr, Fire Marshall of Florence Fire Department, a house fire in the 900 block of Rose Street damaged a single family residence and sent the owner to a local hospital.

The Florence Fire Department was dispatched to a fire around 11:30 a.m. Monday morning. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire on the interior of the rear of the home. The fire extended to the attic area. Several rooms were damaged by fire and the home sustained smoke damage.

The resident was home at the time of the fire and was transported to a local hospital by Florence County EMS with what appeared to be minor burns to the face. The fire has been determined to be accidental and appears to have started near a wall outlet.

The Florence Police Department also assisted on scene.
