COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A nurse working for Grand Strand Regional Medical Center is facing charges for trying to forge prescriptions.
Deputies with the Columbus County Sheriff's Office say Anthony Crocco presented the false prescription to the Medicine Mart in Tabor City on Friday, Dec. 21.
The pharmacist who received it noticed it was not authentic and called police.
After deputies seized and searched Crocco's car, they found blank prescription pads and a sheet of paper where he had been practicing a doctor's signature. Crocco then admitted to stealing the pads from his workplace.
Crocco was given a $35,000 bond for obtaining a controlled substance by forgery or fraud and trafficking opium or heroin by possession.
