Teenager charged with arson

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A 17-year-old has been arrested for intentionally setting a mobile home on fire in Galivants Ferry.

The fire broke out early Monday morning on Fairfax Road. Horry County Police arrested Jenna Coons after an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit determined she was responsible for intentionally starting the fire.

The home belonged to a family member of Coons, according to Horry County Police Sgt. Brandon Strickland. Coons' motive is not known at this time.

Coons is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center for arson charges. At this time no bail has been set.
