Police link man to 2 burglaries in Mullins

MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Marion Co. Deputies have linked 25-year-old Alex Gonzale Johnson of Mullins to two burglaries in the Mullins area of Marion Co.

Between Dec. 2 and Dec. 12, several homes were broken into on Red Bluff Court. 

According to Sheriff Mark Richardson through investigation by Marion County Sheriff's Detectives, Johnson was arrested on Dec. 14 and charged with burglary, first and second degree, as well as assault on a law enforcement officer while resisting arrest.

Johnson took a swing at an officer upon arrest, that officer only received a small scratch to the face.

Johnson was found to be in possession of two controlled substances.  He is also being charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance by the Marion County Combined Drug Unit. 

Johnson is currently in the Marion County Detention Center.
