Resident shoots burglar during home invasion

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Florence Co. man is behind bars after police say he after breaking into someone's home.

According to Michael Nunn of Florence County Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Rogie Derell Wise from Gable has been charged with burglary after breaking into a home on Old McAllister Rd.

Nunn said the residents woke up when Wise entered the home. One of the residents fired several shots at Wise while he was inside the house. Wise then ran away on foot.

He was found just a short distance away from the residence with a gunshot wound to the leg. Wise was treated at a local hospital and released to deputies.
