Report: Man attacked in drug deal with former jail mate

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – It was a drug deal gone wrong that sent one man running from his alleged attacker early Friday morning.

The victim reports he met the male suspect on the 1400 block of Mr. Joe White Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Friday to, "purchase a dime bag of marijuana."

After following that man across the street down Warren Street the suspect "snuck a punch in and hit him in the head," according the Myrtle Beach Police report.

The victim claims he started running, but the suspect followed him until he reached the fire station on Mr. Joe White Avenue. The victim then watched the suspect walk off with his friend's red moped while he waited for police to arrive.

The suspect was described as a black male standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing between 225 and 245 pounds. He is well groomed, with thin facial hair.

The victim notes that since he and the suspect "spent time in county jail" together, he would be able to identify him. Anyone with information on this incident of the whereabouts of the suspect should contact Myrtle Beach Police.
