DILLON, SC (WMBF) – Two Dillon High football champs are facing charges for allegedly stealing from a rival basketball team.

On Monday, Dec. 3 Dillon High's basketball team hosted South Robeson High, but during the game a few things turned up missing.

According to Dillon County Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel, 17-year-old Tyreek Hayes and 18-year-old Pete Ingram entered the visiting team's locker room during the game and took cell phones, jewelry and clothes.

All of those items were immediately recovered and returned to the South Robeson team. The two students were expelled from school the following day and arrested on Thursday to face charges for grand larceny.

They are expected to be released on a personal recognizance bond.

Both students are seniors that played football for the Dillon High School Wildcats this year when they won the State Championship Title. They will be able to gain their diplomas through adult education, Daniel says.
