73-year-old missing man found by highway patrol

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol has located the elderly man reported missing from the Florence area.

Richard Warren Baird, 73, was last seen wearing a blue and tan jacket and a tan fishing hat on West Lucas Street in Florence on Wednesday afternoon.

According to his family, Baird may in the early stages of dementia.

Police released a description of Baird and his vehicle Thursday morning and before noon, the South Carolina Highway Patrol located him safe and sound in Dillon County.

Baird's family created a Facebook page to help locate him.
