MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Did you know that horseback riding is allowed on the beach from the third Saturday in November through the end of February?
And according to Mark Kruea, Public Information Officer for the City of Myrtle Beach, no permit is required throughout those months.
But there are rules that must be followed:
1.) No more than six horses and riders may be in a single group at one time.
2.) Riding on or across any sand dune is prohibited.
3.) Access to the beach is only from Myrtle Beach State Park.
4.) There shall be no staging or parking of horse trailers on the public right-of-way.
5.) All riders are required to clean up after their mounts.
