Christmas decorations stolen from fire department display

LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Laurens County deputies said about $600 worth of Christmas decorations were stolen from a display at the Hickory Tavern Fire Department sometime Wednesday morning.

According to an incident report, firefighters said they saw all of the decorations just after midnight, but when they returned from a call just before 5 a.m. they noticed that three items were missing - a 6' tall inflatable snowman, a 6' tall Mickey Mouse dressed in a Santa Claus suit and a 10' by 6' fire truck with Santa Claus driving it.

Deputies said they were not able to recover any tire tracks or footprints because so many people had walked along the trail where the decorations were displayed.

Anyone with information about the thefts was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 68-CRIME (864-682-7463).
