Conway PD: Suspicious item sent to SLED

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – Conway Police are investigating the source of a "suspicious item" left on the porch of an unoccupied residence Friday.

The report states the item was left on the porch of an unoccupied home, and the owner reported the suspicious item to police Friday afternoon.

After determining that the device was placed there "to damage the residence by means of a destructive device," police set up a perimeter to investigate.

Police has not said what that item was, or named a suspect.

Police spokeswoman Catina Hipp says their department has sent that suspicious item to the State Law Enforcement Division to help identify it, and possibly who made it.
