DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol's investigation remains open after two vehicles collided on a Dillon County highway.
Lance Corporal Judd Jones reports that crash occurred around 7:18 p.m. Sunday evening on Harvey Bridge Road.
Jones says a 29-year-old tractor trailer driver from North Carolina was driving in reverse in the southbound lanes. A second car, a 1985 Buick, traveling in those southbound lanes collided with the back of that truck, fatally injuring the driver.
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old William Lidge Jr. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says Lidge was not wearing a seatbelt.
This crash remains under investigation by the SCHP's Multi-Discplinary Accident Investigation Team.
