Multi-car crash blocks traffic on Highway 17 - WMBFNews.com, Myrtle Beach/Florence SC, Weather

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A portion of Highway 17 Bypass was shut down Wednesday afternoon as crews worked to clear the scene of a multi-vehicle crash.

That crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 17 Bypass and 38th Avenue North.

According to Myrtle Beach dispatch, the crash involved four cars and there were injuries reported.

Traffic cameras from the South Carolina Dept. of Transportation show traffic backing up behind the crash, all the way to 29th Avenue North.

Crews began to clear the scene around 3:45 p.m. and northbound traffic was flowing normally by 4:15 p.m.
