MYRTLE BEACH,
SC (WMBF) – Black Friday shopping is a challenging adventure and an adrenaline
rush to the most experienced shoppers. This year there are several free apps
for your smartphone to make the day a little easier.
With retail
stores releasing their Black Friday deals earlier and earlier each year, it's
important to stay refreshed on the competition.
If you've got
your highlighted sales papers, tank full of gas and good night's sleep, make sure
you download one of these free apps to your phone to help you out.
Amazon.com
offers a free smartphone app called Amazon's
Price Check App. It compares the price of large name brand store products
to Amazon's price by scanning their barcodes on your phone to ensure you're getting
to best deal before you make that purchase. You can also say the name of the
item you're looking for and it will pull of the price of it on amazon.com.
Another option
is the Red Laser App which helps
you compare prices from your local stores. Instead of driving all over town on
Black Friday, scan the item you desire and let the app compare the price of all
nearby retailers.
Google Shopper is another free
smartphone application that online bloggers say is "probably the best." This app
can search hundreds of retailers and compare the prices of the item you want
based on the cost of shipping, so if you're looking for an overall deal this is
the app for you. It has lots of information, for be warned, it may not be the
best app to use in a hurry.
If you don't need to buy on Black Friday, then the Decide Mobile App may be the one for
you. This app tracks the fluctuating prices of popular items over time to let
you if Black Friday is the best time to buy, or if you'd get a better deal if
you waited.
This app does have a few limitations in the free version, but is
still a very good resource.
