Group hosts fundraiser for victims of Superstorm Sandy

Posted: Updated:

CAROLINA FOREST, SC (WMBF) - Sons of the Flag, a nationwide burn center based in Dallas, Texas, is holding a fundraiser in the Grand Strand for those affected by Superstorm Sandy.

Firefighter liaison for Sons of the Flag and former New York firefighter John Walters says the burn center treats many first responders, and many people in those walks of life lost their homes when Sandy struck the Northeast.

The group is hosting a fundraiser at Ron Jon's in Carolina Forest on Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering $7 plates of baked ziti to eat in or carry out.

They will also have a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

Sons of the Flag was started by a member of Seal Team Six, notorious for their role in the death of Osama Bin Laden.

For more information about the fundraiser, or to contribute to the victims of Superstorm Sandy, contact John Walters at 516-369-0540.
