Originally from Rochester, New York, Stephanie Robusto finished high school in Italy as a Rotary Exchange Student. She learned the importance of adapting, the need for communication to transcend a language barrier, and became fearless in how to experience the world.
Those three lessons stay with her as a reporter, where she is able to immerse herself in the stories she presents to you every day.
Stephanie attended one year at Ithaca College, one year at InterLingue International Language School in Rome, and eventually finished her degree at Oswego State in Upstate New York. During school she worked as an anchor and producer at WTOP, a student-run news show, and as producer and co-anchor for a student-run radio show on WNYO. She was also involved in many clubs, including VEGA Women's Honor Society, the National Broadcast Association, and as a mentor for the MOST program supporting transfer students.
While working on her degree, she became a summer intern with WMBF news. Once she finished her B.A. in Broadcasting and Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism, Stephanie joined the WMBF news team as a News Content Specialist. Working as an Associate Producer, she would go out and cover stories in between editing the evening broadcasts.
Less than 6 months later, Stephanie became a full-time reporter with WMBF news and is delighted to start her career here on the Grand Strand. Journalism is a passion that has grown out of a constant need to explore and understand the world around her.
