HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - HCPD detectives are closing the book on 12 burglaries in the Garden City area after linking a Mt. Pleasant man to each of the crimes.

Each of those crimes were committed between Oct. 23 and Nov. 2 within the Jensen's Subdivision in Garden City on second homes which were unoccupied.

When the crimes were reported, homeowners noted that items such as televisions and other appliances were stolen.

An investigation initiated by detectives with the Horry County Police Department's Property Crimes Section led to the possible identity of a suspect, which was located by Uniform Patrol officers in the South Strand.

The suspect, 38-year-old Allen Loring Atkins of Mt. Pleasant, had some of the stolen property in his possession, allowing detectives to link him to all 12 of the incidents.

Atkins has been charged with 12 counts of burglary.
